De Prado barfel van Taste heeft een teakhouten blad. Teak hout is een harde houtsoort en daarmee perfect geschikt voor het gebruik in tuintafels. Teakhout zal na verloop van tijd gaan verkleuren en haarscheurtjes gaan vertonen. Dit is niet erg want het maakt de tafel juist nog stoerder. Mocht je de voorkeur hebben om de originele kleur te behouden van het teak hout. Dan adviseren wij om de tafel te behandelen met een protector. Om vlekken te voorkomen kun je de teak tafel ook behandelen met een teak shield. Dit onderhoudsmiddel zorgt er tevens voor dat het teak water- en vuilafstotend is. Let op dat je de teak tuintafel nooit afdekt met een hoes. Wanneer het tafelblad volledig afgesloten wordt kan het niet “ademen” en kunnen er lelijke vlekken ontstaan.
