This compact module replaces points and condensers, fits entirely within the distributor, and offers easy installation that keeps your engine bay looking original. Which Coil Do I Need for My Lumenition Magnetronic Kit? All Lumenition Magnetronic kits require a standard contact breaker coil . You have two main options: 1.) Standard 12V Coil (3 Ohm) (Recommended) Example: MS6 coil Works correctly with Magnetronic kits. Equivalent to our Remax ES2 and Remax ES5 coils: ES5 – Same push-in fittings as the MS6 ES2 – Same specification but with acorn fittings 2.) Ballast Coil Example: MS4 coil Provides slightly better performance than a standard 12V coil. Important: The MS4 must be used with a ballast resistor . Some vehicles already have a ballast resistor built into the wiring loom. If not, you will need to fit one externally. Our MS4 coil comes supplied with a ballast resistor. Summary of Our Recommended Coils MS4 – Ballast coil (includes ballast resistor) MS6 – Standard 12V 3 Ohm coil (push-in fitting) Remax ES5 – Equivalent to MS6 (push-in fitting) Remax ES2 – Equivalent to MS6 (acorn fitting)
