Château Les Vimières Haut-Médoc 2017
90 Points - International Wine Report. Since 1984 Château Les Vimières has been a family run vineyard and is the personal property of the Boissenot family. Jacques Boissenot consulted for four of the first growths of Bordeaux over a 50 year period! This is a remarkably balanced wine with elegant tannins and a long refreshing finish. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and aged for 18 months in Oak Barrels of which 33% is New Oak, Les Vimières is a wine that can be aged for up to 15 years. This is a rare gem, fit for any cellar. About the Producer Since 1984 Château Les Vimières has been a family run vineyard and is the personal property of the Boissenot family. Jacques Boissenot always kept a low profile, which is amazing considering that he consulted for four of the first growths of Bordeaux over a 50 year period! The property is now run by his son Eric, who has also taken over all consultancy work following a prolonged apprenticeship at his father's side. Jacques and Eric have helped to improve the quality of around 180 different properties in the Medoc, including some of the most prestigious estates. In one of Decanter magazine's articles from 2010, it is noted that "if it got the nod in 1855, you can pretty much rest assured that the Boissenots are playing a part in it today". Wine Press 90 Points - International Wine Report "The 2017 Château les Vimières offers a nice mix dark cherries and plum followed by spices, tobacco and a dusting of licorice. This has a lovely velvety texture with a nice touch of acidity that frames the finish. Showing well and should be accessible upon release."
