"Dry, dusky cedary Chardonnay. Good lenght. Mouth-watering acidity - in fact the acidity is the defining shape and movement of this wine. It swirls across ans through the mouth, pulling the flavours and rounded generosity into longer lines." / Tamlyn Currin @ Jancis Robinson / 16.5 points Tasting notes: Attractive, expressive scent of candied citrus fruits, crunchy mirabelles, fresh fine-sour yellow apples and subtle mineral notes. The bright aroma is immediately followed by the finest notes of subtle wood. Fine density without being heavy. Wonderfully textured, but still lively. All components are already perfectly interwoven. Very fine minerality and delicate acidity enrich the finish. Character: The Chardonnay from the Ihringer Winklerberg is characterised by an extraordinary minerality, which can only develop in this form on volcanic weathered rock. This gives the wines, in addition to the existing power, elegance and finesse. This wine was fermented and matured in French barriques. Food recommendation: An excellent wine accompany fried or grilled fish, strong roasts and Mediterranean cuisine. Also very suitable with various types of cheeses. Soil: Weathered volcanic rock. Maturation: 12 month in French Barriques Alcohol: 13,0% vol. Res. sugar: 0,7 g/l Acidity: 6,1 g/l
