"This is no facile poolside quaffer",AvR warns. This is serious barrel-fermented Sauvignon with a small (5%) inclusion of the waxy, rounder Semillon for texture and softness. Initially taut and bone dry with a zippy acidity, the wine unfolds it's layers of grapefruit, hay and elderberry to reveal a stoney, slate-like mineraility on a savoury palate. Energetic and impressive.
