Yamagata Masamune Umeshu | Sake Collective (1x75cl)
A premium plum sake made after the umeshu boom a few years ago, this umeshu is the product of a long period of trial and error. Using their own sake as the base alcohol and ripe Nanko plums from Gunma prefecture, the brewers also experimented with the type of sugar and steeping methods to create their ideal drink. TYPE:Plum sake (umeshu) OUR TASTING NOTES: Apricot and shiso on the nose, with a richness on the palate that is reminiscence of honey. Sweet and textured but also balanced with acidity from the plums and the umami in the background from the sake. FOOD PAIRING: Digestif, or with a cheese platter. SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Fantastic on the rocks, or topped up with soda water. STORAGE:Store in a dry and cool place. Avoid direct sunlight.
