The beautiful country is surrounded by the sea, rich with precious salt, and this element has always fostered the development of civilizations. Salt has many facets and is not only derived from sea evaporation but also extracted from the famous salt mines, of which Sicily is particularly rich.Akragas was the ancient name of the present-day Agrigento, a famous city in southern Sicily, enchanting for its natural beauty and the stunning Valley of the Temples, an invaluable heritage admired since the times of Magna Graecia, perfectly preserved to this day. The Greek poet Pindar referred to Agrakas as the "most beautiful city in the world," and it is to this breathtaking beauty that this creation is inspired.Agrigento, in its long history, has known the influences of various peoples, from the Magna Grecians to the Carthaginians, from the Arabs to the Normans, gathering all the cultural facets capable of coexisting in harmony and serenity, offering us a beauty that teaches us all. Akragas aims to tell the story of this crossroads of cultures and wonders through the salt from its most famous mine, immersed in Mediterranean scrubland and enchanting landscapes.The creation opens with a pungent bouquet that immediately evokes the Mediterranean scrub, where we notice the Myrtle of Sicily and Mediterranean Seaweed, intensely embraced by the typical citrus fruits of the island, with the royal Grapefruit and the unmistakable softness of Neroli standing out. This head settles on a heart as strong as the Sicilian land, robust and generous, where the Salt from the Agrigento Mine becomes the dominant and resonating note, enhanced by Atlas Cedar, strongly aromatic with Red Thyme and Bulgarian Geranium. The entire creation is based on a powerful and aromatic base, capable of echoing the breezes of the Sicilian sea, thanks to Benzoin, carried by Musk, in contrast to Singapore Patchouli and Madagascar Vanilla Berries. The spirit of the wonder of the Girgenti lands in a drop of salty and fascinating perfume.
