The Lakes Whiskymaker's Editions Reserve No. 5 whisky is a stylish English Single Malt and the fifth instalment in what has become an internationally award-winning series of single malt whiskies. Matured in the finest, bespoke Oloroso, PX, and red wine casks, comprising Spanish and American oak, The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No. 5 is an elegant and Moorish evolution, possessing the same sherry-led, wood-forward characteristics as its predecessors. From the back label: "The Whiskymaker's Reserve No.5 is elegant and restrained, matured in the finest, meticulously sourced Oloroso, PX and red wine casks. Perfumed and fruity on the nose, a Moorish influence of nutty baklava with fragrant baking spices on the palate leads to a vibrant, creamy finish." Cumbria hosts the Lakes Distillery, founded in 2011 by Paul Currie, co-founder of Isle of Arran Distillery. Situated within a renovated farmstead by River Derwent in a national park, they innovate due to limited space, using custom stills for whisky and a smaller one for Lakes Gin/Vodka. Whisky master Dhavall Ghandi joined in 2016, infusing tradition with fresh inspiration. The Lakes introduced The Whiskymaker’s Reserve in 2019, a series of single malts. Located near Penrith, it's a gem of heritage and innovation.
