Der Adistar Jellyfish ist Pharrells charakteristische adidas-Silhouette, die 2025 unter seinem kreativen Pseudonym VIRGINIA auf den Markt kam. Sie basiert auf der Performance-Laufsohle des adidas Adistar Cushion 3 aus dem Jahr 2005 und verfügt über ein komplett neu gestaltetes Upper. Dieses besteht aus einem leichten, atmungsaktiven Mesh-Fundament, das mit übertriebenen, dreidimensional geformten Gummi-Overlays überzogen ist. Diese ragen in einem organischen, dreidimensionalen Muster aus der Schuhoberfläche hervor, das an das lichtdurchlässige Exoskelett einer Qualle erinnert. Hinzu kommen eine im Dunkeln leuchtende Außensohle, die sichtbar wird, wenn der Schuh zwischen hellen und dunklen Umgebungen wechselt, individuelle Jellyfish-Logos auf der Innensohle und der Zunge sowie die charakteristische, skulpturale Zwischensohle des Schuhs, die die Höhe und das Profil der Plattform über die Proportionen eines Standard-Laufschuhs hinaus betont. Der weiße Colorway wurde von adidas zum Schuh des Jahres 2025 gekürt, wobei adidas-CEO Bjørn Gulden das Zusammentreffen von Pharrells Kreativität mit echter Begeisterung der Verbraucher als das prägende Merkmal der Kollaboration hervorhob und Pharrell das Projekt selbst als Freiheit und Erkundung statt als Druck beschrieb, vergangenen Erfolg zu wiederholen. Die weiße Version reiht sich nach dem ursprünglichen Orange-Release, dem Triple Black, dem Royal Blue und einem kommenden Crystal-Sand-Release im Herbst 2026 in den wachsenden Farbkatalog des Jellyfish ein, wobei Weiß der vielseitig tragbarste und modisch neutralste Ausdruck der Silhouette ist.
