Paul Vincent Avril at Domaine du Clos des Papes makes one of the most sought-after wines in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. This Southern RhA ne estate has been in the Avril family for three generations gaining in reputation from wine critics and drinkers alike. Ripe and velvety with a lithe fresh feel. Leathery earthy licorice spice along with dark plum and cherry fruit. Red berry acidity and a garrigue note on the finish. "Leather and spiced notes pure with good fresh vivacity on the nose. These carry to a medium-bodied 2021 that has good ripeness (the alcohol is 15) a supple silky mouthfeel ripe tannins and a great finish.
