Meet the Producer. Valenciso is a boutique estate in the heart of Rioja Alta, celebrated for wines of exceptional longevity and precision. Working with indigenous yeasts, sustainable viticulture, and meticulous attention to detail at every stage, Valenciso produces wines that are a true and honest expression of their terroir, rewarding both immediate drinking and patient cellaring.. Vineyard and Production. Grapes are sourced from 80-year-old vines on clay and stone soils in Rioja Alta, hand-selected at harvest with sustainable farming throughout. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in Caucasian oak barrels, preserving the wine's natural character and terroir expression. The wine then ages for nine months on fine lees, building texture, depth, and the mineral precision that is the hallmark of Valenciso's elegant style.. Tasting Notes. Aromatic and complex on the nose, with floral notes, preserved lemon, and a hint of smokiness. The palate is layered and broad, with stone fruit, toasted nuts, citrus freshness, and mineral precision, all carried by a long, elegant finish.
