Quinta de Azevedo Vinho Verde Loureiro & Alvarinho Producer: Quinta de Azevedo, Minho, Vinho Verde DOC, Portugal. The estate is a historic property dating back to the 12th century, located near the Cávado River in the heart of the Vinho Verde region. It has been owned by the Guedes family since 1982 and is known for modern, sustainable viticulture and fresh, terroir-driven wines. Grape Varieties: 70% Loureiro 30% Alvarinho (Albariño) Tasting Notes Pale lemon in colour with brilliant clarity. The nose is vibrant and aromatic, offering notes of lime blossom, citrus peel, nectarine, fresh mango and tropical fruits, alongside delicate white floral aromas. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing with lively acidity, a gentle mineral character and excellent balance. Ripe citrus and stone fruit flavours carry through to a long, clean and salivating finish. Wine making The grapes are harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Part of the fruit receives a short pre-fermentation maceration to maximise varietal character. The wine is then aged on its lees for around three months with regular bâtonnage, adding texture and complexity while maintaining the bright Vinho Verde style. Best enjoyed young while its freshness and fruit character are at their peak.
