ProductionThe grapes are grown on the schistous soils of the Douro region, giving the wine its unique minerality and depth. Vinification takes place in closed fermentation tanks, with fermentation interrupted by the addition of grape brandy to preserve the wine’s natural sweetness. The wine is then aged in wood in Wiese & Krohn’s cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, allowing subtle complexity to develop..
